Birth & Postpartum Support
Postpartum doulas provide postpartum services tailored to the needs of each family. I set aside time for a free initial consultation with every client to make sure that what the family wants and the services I can provide match. The services are available in both Japanese and English.
* A mileage fee of 75¢ per mile applies for travel beyond 20 miles.
Birth & Postpartum in the U.S.A.
Preparation Session
This is a relaxed, roughly 3-hour online session focused on childbirth and postpartum care in the U.S.A.. If you are expecting parents coming from different countries and/or cultures, we’ll cover key topics to help prepare you for this special time. I’m happy to adjust the content to meet the unique needs of your family—whether that’s a Cesarean section, caring for older children, or planning for mom’s return to work. Daytime Postpartum Support
Daytime Hourly Rate: $40/60 minutes*
*A minimum of 4 consecutive hours per visit
*Travel beyond 20 miles will incur an additional fee of 75¢ per mile
What’s Included in Daytime Support
Every family is unique, and I’m here to offer support that’s thoughtfully tailored to your specific needs. Common areas of support include:
✓ Infant care - diaper change, swaddling, soothing, cuddling, bathing, feeding and more. Hands-on newborn care education can also be provided if parents would like support learning these skills.
✓ Postpartum care for mothers – emotional support, assistance with physical recovery, and a compassionate presence to simply listen. If desired, I can also provide education on postpartum blues and postpartum depression.
✓ Light household tasks – laundry, dishes, sanitizing pump parts and bottles, dusting, vacuuming, and sweeping. Please note that deep cleaning and bathroom cleaning are not included. The care of the mother and baby is always prioritized above household tasks.
✓ Simple meal prep – you provide or request ingredients, and I’ll cook in your kitchen
✓ Sibling care – keeping older children engaged and supported
✓ Pet care – dogs and cats only
✓ Ongoing support via phone, text, or email
✓ Specialized care for twins or triplets (rates may vary – please reach out)
Please note:
I offer birth-assist support as a medical translator for Japanese families—especially for those who may feel less confident communicating with medical providers at hospitals or birth centers during labor.
However, I do not take birth-assist requests from English-speaking clients, as I am not a certified birth doula or midwife. Thank you for your understanding.
Overnight Postpartum Support
Overnight Hourly Rate ........$42/60 minutes*
*Overnight hours: 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM
*A minimum of 8 consecutive hours per visit
*Travel beyond 20 miles will incur an additional fee of 75¢ per mile
*Please note: This is not an “awake care” service. When your baby is resting, your postpartum doula may also rest nearby in order to provide balanced, attentive care throughout the night.
What’s Included in Overnight Support
Most families use overnight care to rest and recharge while I gently and attentively care for their baby. For families who book longer-term support (more than 8 weeks), I can also begin laying the foundation for healthy sleep habits during this time. Overnight support may include:
✓ Diaper changes, swaddling, soothing, cuddling, and bottle feeding
✓ Breastfeeding support – bringing baby to mom for nursing and returning baby to sleep afterward
✓ Washing and sterilizing pump parts and bottles
✓ Laundry for baby’s clothes and linens
✓ Safe breastmilk handling and storage
✓ Hands-on sleep support designed to help your baby sleep 8+ hours at night by 16 weeks of age (available only for families seeking 8 weeks or more of ongoing overnight support).
✓ Ongoing support via phone, text, or email
✓ Specialized care for twins or triplets (rates may vary – please inquire)
